Many car owners wonder if it is worth getting their car detailed. One of our customers was quick to point out that he does everything in life based on "ROI" or Return on Investment.

He owns several cars, but one of his favorites is his Porsche Cayenne S Sport Utility 4D.

It has been detailed every quarter since he purchased it in September 2005, and two minor dents have been repaired and the rims have been repaired once to remove scuffs caused when his teenage daughter was learning how to park. To many people, it might seem like he has spent a lot of money on detailing services:

• The cost of 8 Details: @189.00 = $1512
• The cost of 2 Dent repairs = $190.00
• The cost of Rim Repair = $149.00

But now lets take a look at the difference in resale value now that he is looking at the 2009 Porsche Cayenne:

• Excellent Condition: $37,175
• Good Condition: $35,250 (Usually with one or two minor door dings) - Difference from excellent: $1,925
• Fair Condition: $31,795 (Look for scuffed rims, dents, paint flaws) - Difference from excellent: $5,380

It doesn't take a degree in finance to see that by spending a little bit of money every few months to maintain the finish of your car, it can pay huge dividends when you go to sell your car.
